Mountain View United Methodist Church has a rich family tradition. Established
by pioneer Methodist families living in the mountains north of Alma in 1878,
Mountain View continues to be a warm Christian church home for members and the
broader community, meeting the spiritual needs of modern families. Our church is
deeply committed to the mission of helping people come into the family of Christ
and living their lives as disciples of Jesus. The church serves as the
congregational connection for the larger Christian ministry such as worldwide
evangelism, disaster relief, and community development.
From the Pastor
Hello,
I am Bob Jeffery, the new pastor of Mountain View United Methodist
Church. I am very happy to be here. The Holy Spirit is at work in this
congregation and we are on the move for Christ and his church.
Everyone is welcome to come to Mountain View UMC and become a part of
what is going on in this congregation.I have been pastor here since February 1, 2015 and I am enjoying being a part of a very loving congregation. I was born into the Methodist Church and baptized as an infant. I was very active a youth and young adult serving in many capacities in 1st Methodist Church of Fort Smith. Married and moved to Mulberry, AR and was very activity in the Mulberry United Methodist serving in many capacities until 1981 when I entered into the ministry of the United Methodist Church as a Part Time Local Pastor. During this time I have served as Pastor of the following United Methodist Churches, Alix, Denning, Vesta, Lavaca, New Hope-Van Buren, and Newberry Chapel-Alma. We at Mountain View are now on a Charge with Newberry Chapel and are very pleased with this Charge Realignment.
I have been married to my wife Dianne for forty-five years and she is active with me in doing Christ’s work in these churches. We have two grown sons, Todd and Matt who both live in Fort Smith. Dianne and I are very pleased that God has brought us to this Church.
I have office hours at Mountain View UMC every Tuesday for 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and you are welcome to drop by and visit. You can also make an appointment by calling the church at 1 479 462 1320. This is a 24/7 phone number and I am available at any time. We also have a Facebook page which is very activity, keeping up with the activities of the church and information about the coming worship services.
Come and join us in worship every Sunday at 9:30 a.m. and Sunday School which follow the worship service. We have a class for children as well which meets during the worship service.
